The likelihood is we have all been there at some point in our fitness journey, We consistently make an effort to tone up and get that body we have always dreamed of. The good news is that there are likely some key areas that might be pulling you away from you that are quick and effective when it comes to making progress.
You aren’t tracking your input.
While it is great to have an overall aim of consuming more protein and eating less food - the reality of it is there is often a good chance that you are overconsuming when it comes to the food you are eating on a daily basis. Tracking your overall calorie intake on a day to day basis is much more likely to give you an idea if you are consuming less calories than you burn!
You aren’t moving enough!
When we start to consume less food, our body naturally does not want to move much and instinctively does this to reserve energy. Having some daily targets that keep us moving enough throughout the week is a great tactic to overcome this. Aiming for around 10k steps each day and maybe 3-4 30 minute moderate cardio sessions per week is a great place to start here. 2-4 gym sessions involving some form of resistance training will further enhance your rate of progress - especially for those looking to have a more “toned” leaner physique as they lose weight!
These are just two elements I would start working on if I was someone who was struggling to reach their fat loss goals. If you want to further optimise this and ensure you get the best result possible while learning and educating yourself on the process - hire a personal trainer for a few months and get some professional advice on where you are at and what is needed to help you get to where you aspire to be!
I am also delighted to announce that I am now offering an in person Personal Training service at kingfisher fitness club Waterford!
