It is around this time of year that you will likely be looking towards the new year and quite possibly playing with the idea of hiring your own coach to help guide you along the path towards your health and fitness goals. It is often around this time of year that we let our hair down and enjoy the festivities that come with the Christmas period! Following this we often struggle with the January blues and finding a routine that works as we try to put our right foot forward in the new year and look to eliminate some bad habits we may have built in the past. Hiring a coach can often be the answer, and the most efficient way of getting to your goal.

Open to learning!

One of the first stumbling blocks that can make things more difficult than they need to be! You have hired a coach to learn where you have been going wrong, it is an investment in your education as much as it is your health and wellbeing. Ask questions! The process becomes a lot easier and more enjoyable to follow when you understand why you do what you do along the journey!

Open to change!

As the old saying goes - Change requires change! It is likely that the things you have been doing up until now haven’t been as efficient as you hoped in helping you towards your end goal. Maybe there are only small changes needed initially but over time your coach may encourage you to improve upon and increase your standards to help you better understand your potential. Keep an open mind when it comes to trying out things you haven’t done before! To get things you’ve never had, you must do things you’ve never done!

Open to communicating along the journey!

The clients who communicate the most, are most often the clients who make the most progress. Your coach is not in a position to judge you, they are in a position to listen to your feedback and collaborate with you to best manage the obstacles that often arise. Being open and honest with your coach is what is going to ensure you have the best experience possible and allows your coach to make changes if and when needed to best help you overcome each obstacle as it comes!
