3 simple tips to improve your diet!

Writer: coachedbycashelcoachedbycashel

In the world of health and fitness, it can often be quite difficult to understand what is needed to start when it comes to our diet and our health and wel-being. The good news is these can be very simple changes! Small tweaks and changes to our diet over a long period of time are what is usually most sustainable and will yield better results for the majority of people looking to start improving their diets! Below I will offer the initial advice I give to people looking to start making some positive changes right away!

Protein sources!

Increasing the amount of lean meat or other high protein foods within our diet is usually what I would recommend as the priority here. Increasing your protein intake is what is going to help us in terms of building and retaining muscle mass, our recovery and satisfying hunger levels!

Less snacking!

A simple yet often overlooked factor within our lifestyle. Trying to promote routine meal times throughout your day where you can fit in any treats and curb any cravings is usually what I would recommend. Have meals in place that you enjoy and avoid snacking in between. This will improve your appetite before each meal and likely mean you enjoy your meals more. This will often result in less calories burned overall each day!

Increase your fibre intake!

Increase the amount of colours on your plate. More fruit and veg is going to provide us with more fibre and help us to get our micronutrients. This is great for our digestion, gut health and helps to better contribute to more impactful micronutrient intake. Increased fibre will also help us to better manage hunger as it keeps us fuller for longer!

These are just some simple steps we can take right now to start making positive changes in our diet that will help to contribute when it comes to promoting our health and wellbeing while also contributing to improved results as a byproduct of the work we put into our gym workouts and other physical activity!
