In this article I will offer 3 simple and effective tips that we can incorporate on a daily basis which will help to better guide us on the path to improving our health and fitness! This list is not exhaustive and is simply what I would advise as our more basic foundational habits that will help us to start moving in the right direction. There are countless ways to improve these goals - but here we will just focus on the basics!
Protein punches!
This does not have to be overly complicated - we know by now the positive correlation that exists between protein consumption and our health and fitness. Having a little more protein in the diet will better help us to recover and will be a big driver for muscle hypertrophy and fat loss phases. Protein dense foods are in most cases - more satiating, meaning they will keep us feeling fuller for longer. As you can imagine this can be especially helpful during fat loss phases! Aiming to have a high protein source in each meal is a great start here.
Hydration station.
Drinking more water throughout the day has a long list of benefits when it comes to our health and fitness. Aiming to have a glass of water with each meal will be a great start for those who are looking to improve their hydration and experience the multitude of benefits water intake has to offer i.e. flushing out of toxins, digestion, performance etc. A glass of water when we wake up and before we go to bed is also another helpful habit to get into!
Don’t stop steppin.
Having a daily step target is a really effective way to ensure you are moving enough throughout the day. This will be a very helpful habit to get into each day if we want to ensure we are being proactive in improving and maintaining our health and fitness. This also encourages to spend a little more time outdoors and get some fresh air!
That is all for this week - as I mentioned earlier, if we get these simple habits in place it is much easier to add more tasks as we find our feet!
