What if you finally did it?

What if you actually followed through with your health and fitness goals? What if you made more excuses? Made more excuses to prioritise your health and well being. More excuses to allocate time to yourself so you can work on yourself. It is not selfish to help yourself become a better version of yourself, furthermore, this will likely help you to better serve those you care about.

Think about what you want from life. Is it a case that you want to feel better and more comfortable in your own skin? Maybe you’ve had a recent health scare following a routine GP appointment which came as a byproduct of some poor lifestyle choices. Maybe you want to be a positive role model for your children and those who look up to you, maybe even a better partner to your other half.

The good news is it's never too late to start. However, you need to truly want to change if you are chasing long term improvements in your health and wellbeing. Yes results take time, Rome wasn’t built in a day - and neither will most of your goals. The caveat to this however is how you will feel about yourself as time goes on. I always ask my clients over the first few weeks what changes if any have they noticed?

“I have much more energy”, “I don’t feel as stiff or hesitant to move around” “I can feel my clothes start to fit a little better.” The list goes on, you only know what you know. If it’s been a while since you’ve been in shape or following a regimented exercise regime - you’ve likely forgotten how good you felt when you had an exercise regime and a higher level of fitness and mobility. A rolling stone gathers no moss - keep moving and look at the people who are where you want to be if you are lacking motivation - what are they doing on a daily basis to stay in shape - ask yourself, are you doing the same?

Success leaves clues. Keep moving, keep learning and start making excuses to prioritise your own health and wellbeing - you will thank yourself down the line!
