Sometimes we tell ourselves that health and fitness is out of reach. We look at the top 5% of fitness influencers  who are what we define as the pinnacle of health and fitness and we immediately have an overwhelming task looming up in front of us. The good news as this is not how we need to look at things. Improving your health and fitness is a lot closer than you think - and every effort no matter how small is going to help! In this article I will highlight 3 tasks we can do daily to get the ball rolling when it comes to our health and fitness!

Your protein and fibre intake - something most of us can all look to improve throughout our day. Keeping it simple and prioritising high protein and fibre sources throughout the day is going to be a big help when it comes to your nutrition. These changes can help when it comes to a multitude of wellness goals - this will in most cases improve nutritional quality across the board. Leaner meat choices, whey protein and plenty of fruit, veg and grains!

Your activity levels- if you are someone who spends a lot of your day sitting down, at a desk, etc. This can sound quite obvious - but you would be surprised at the amount of people in a position where they are sedentary for most of the day and feel stuck when it comes to managing their health and fitness. Starting as small as a 30 minute walk each morning or evening can be enough to start initiating a positive sustainable change in your health and fitness. Making an excuse to get some extra steps in throughout your day - parking further away from the shop for example can be another helpful strategy to start increasing your activity - you are a lot closer than you think!

Hydration - something I often find myself surprised by when talking to people who are struggling to prioritise their health and fitness. The amount of water they drink on a daily basis. If you are drinking less than 1.5-2L of water per day as an adult looking to improve your health and fitness - there should be a push to work on this moving forward. While a key function of water is hydration which helps to facilitate the smooth running of the body from a physical and cognitive standpoint. Placing more attention on your water intake can also benefit things like your digestion, energy levels and overall performance while also playing a role in flushing out toxins, etc.

As you can see - these are quite simple and effective steps we can take to start working on our health and fitness right away. The take home here is that you are closer than you think!
