2 things I’m doing on holiday to help me stay on top of my health and fitness!

This week while I’ve been away, I thought I’d cover some simple things I try to do each day to stay on top of my health and fitness. This list is not exhaustive or compulsory - it simply provides a rough guideline to what I would consider some helpful habits to incorporate into your day to day while away!
Protein and fibre!
These are generally quite straight forward and should be relatively simple to incorporate. The habit I have gotten into is making sure I am having at least 1-2 servings of fruit or veg and a high protein source with each or 2-3 times throughout the day! This helps to keep some fundamentals in place when it comes to your diet! So when I sit down for each meal I look first to make sure there is a high protein source somewhere on my plate, while also making a conscious effort to take an extra serving of fruit and veg here and there where I can!
Activity.
Whether it’s a 30 minute walk, some swimming or even a gym session - doing something that raises your heart rate for 30-60 mins per day is a really good habit to get into in my opinion. Keep it simple, and try to choose an activity you enjoy! For me I am trying to get a gym session in while also getting a swim and some tennis in across the week!
These are simply just some recommendations that form a simple approach to health and fitness, some people may choose to relax and take a different approach which is okay too! What’s important overall is you are enjoying your holiday, hopefully decreasing your stress levels and re-energising!
